people are dying and going to hell ????? #2

Don't you all get me wrong, now, alright ?
This is not about Mr. Jones, it's about the doctrine.
I am sure Mr. Jones loves the Lord Jesus Christ as much as anybody who have received and known forgiveness, and that is not meant to be patronizing, or anything.
But the statement he made reflects the error in his doctrine.
You see, he probably did not mean ALL people, but maybe some people, or many people are going to hell.
The thing is, if he did not mean ALL people are going to hell, then the question begs to be asked, so how did those who are not going to hell avoid going to hell, and where are they going, when they die ?
Now, I am almost sure Mr. Jones will say, "through Jesus Christ's atoning and redemptive death at the cross, through His blood, by grace through faith" and all the standard answer, and therein lies the rub.
You see, that is true.
Whoever is heaven bound is heaven bound because Jesus Christ died in his place, and that is ENOUGH, but, if I understand the doctrine from which Mr. Jones' statement comes from, it is not really enough because the sinner MUST repent of his sin, MUST put his faith in Jesus or the grace which God wishes to grant and dispense is held back IF the sinner's faith is absent.
And then there is that question of how can one have faith to trust Christ ?
Paul says somebody MUST be sent out, in order for them who must hear the message to hear it, because, Paul says, "faith cometh by hearing and hearing, by the word of God".
Okay ?
So now comes the missionary, and Bob Jones University churns them out by the hundreds, and the reason people are going to hell today is because there is not enough missionaries out there in the fields ripe for harvest, therefore not enough of the gospel is reaching everybody and so people are dying and going to hell today.

Well, here's a quote from Mr. Bob Jones III.
Yeah, THE Bob Jones of the Bob Jones University.
And nah, he wasn't the founder of the university, that was his grandfather.
He was its 3rd president.
At least that's what wikipedia said.
And this is what he, Mr. Jones III, said:

The most sobering reality in the world today is that people are dying and going to Hell today

Now, what is wrong with that picture ?
Is there even anything wrong with that picture.
Well, my answer to that is, yes, there is plenty wrong with it.
It is a picture, a portrait, a presentation of a Sovereign God, who created worlds and universes simply by speaking, but is a total, abject, failure in His purposes to save sinners from their fallen state and  thus redeem them to his Holy Presence in heaven.
Because, think about it, according to Mr. Bob Jones III, people are dying and going to hell, today.
So, basically, this statement is saying that God stepped out of eternity, into time, in the Person of His Only Begotten Son, who was miraculously born of a virgin, a birth announced by angels to shepherds, in a very timely manner saved from the greed and ambition of Herod, grew up a fine, strong, young man with the same trade as His foster father, Joseph, that of carpentry, was baptized by John, another persona prophesied about in Scripture, gathered apostles, went about doing good and preaching the Kingdom of God, was betrayed into the hands of religious and political people, crucified and murdered, when ALL His enemies could find no fault in Him, even Pontius Pilate admitted as much, remained dead in the tomb for 3 days, then resurrected by the Power of the Third Person of the Godhead, seen alive by more than 500 witnesses for 40 days, then ascended into heaven, said He is coming back, sent out His apostles, ALL of whom were not seminary graduates and all of whom were lowly fishermen with one tax collector, and from that nucleus grew a body of faith known by its various branches in every corner of the world collectively as Christianity.
If that is not power, tell me what it is.
If that is not God's working, tell me whose it is.
And people are going to Hell, today, according to Bob Jones III.
I heard a radio preacher say basically the same thing in a prayer.
All I can say is, this mindset is blasphemous.
Check back and I'll show you, BY SCRIPTURE, why so.

previously, in my last blog....."I know where I stand....."


when preachers preach or teach on salvation, more often than not, they are referring to "eternal salvation" which is that salvation which Jesus Christ secured for sinners on the cross with His own blood.

And every last one of these preachers will say that this salvation is all grace plus zero, and many a preacher would accentuate that statement with a loud smack on the pulpit with either his hand, or the Bible he had been waving around dangerously close to falling apart in the air.

And as if to drive the point further, his face would be all deadly serious, often with eyebrows touching or near touching, and after the smack, a long pause while his piercing eyes survey the crowd as if to say, "anyone care to say otherwise" ?

Then, he begins to say otherwise.

By issuing the "altar call", with a quavering, pleading voice asking the sinner, that grieving, Holy Spirit-touched sinner to come forward to the altar and "accept Christ as His personal Savior".

Now, why is this "otherwise" ?

Because for grace to be grace, it is all grace PLUS ZERO.  Which is what they said in the first place, so now how can this salvation be all grace if you can't have it UNLESS you repent and come forward and accept Christ as your personal Savior ?

Now, if it is all of grace plus zero, then this eternal salvation is all the work of God, and God alone, through Jesus Christ His only begotten Son, with no demands from the sinner, otherwise the grace is tainted with the sinner's act and is no longer grace PLUS nothing, are you with me ?

But the argument I gave above are simply dismissed as "old hat", especially to the ThD's and the MTh's with their expertise on Koine Greek and Hebrew and is easily dismissed as a hyper- this or the other, and that faith is not works and all those and all these, and that anyone who dares say that nothing is demanded on the sinner's part is either espousing the heresy of antinomianism or simply misled by "false teachers".

I'm a theology freak.

I love theology, and doctrine, and things about beliefs, religion, teachings, and all that, but only pertaining to what is broadly called "Christianity".

I know where I stand, though, in the matter of eternal salvation and redemption and all those things important to people like me.

Yeah, people like me. (grammar ? sorry, not born and raised in the English language).

I know, understand, and respect, the fact that there are people not like me who could care less about what the Bible says, or what God says, because they have been (1) hurt by religion, and religionists, (2) they were never raised spiritual, or (3) they simply are atheists to the core for one reason or another.

Now I know there should be more than these three but for the moment let's have them do.

On the other side of the fence are those who do (1) care about what Scripture and God says, (2) have gone past the hurts that religion and religionists did to them or maybe somebody they loved, thank God, (3) were raised spiritual by spiritual parents, or (3) have questions about Scripture and its relevance to their lives, although not fully what are called believers in the strict theological sense of the word.

With them I hope to be able to interact, or to reach out, or just write to, about things I will write about in this blog.

I am also a late blooming photographer.

I will have to apologize in advance to those who are truly into photography and understand focal points, and white balances, and priorities (aperture, shutter), and exposure.

I am just beginning to learn these phrases and if I post a picture that kinda makes you want to wretch, please do so, but forgive me in advance.
